There are multiple methods to find your computer name in Windows 10. If you have Windows 7, use Method 3. Windows 7 has a circular Start button while Windows 8 through 10 have a rectangular Start button.
Click on the search icon on the bottom left of your desktop, and type “name” then click on “View your PC name”.
Next, when the “About” page appears, you will see your computer name or device name here:
Click on the search icon on the bottom left of your screen. Instead of a search icon, it may be a search bar. Type “cmd” to search for the Command Prompt.
Once the Command Prompt is open, type “hostname” (without the quotes) and hit Enter. The computer name will appear on the line below.
If you are still using Windows 7 (and you shouldn’t be, as it has passed end-of-life and poses a huge security risk to your organization), obtain the computer name by clicking Start, the Control Panel.
Once the Control Panel opens, you can view it by small icons. Next click on System.
